Bill Flavin

Just to let everyone know. Bill Flavin passed away September 10, 2012. I was able to confirm this from his Facebook page. RIP Bill. We'll miss you along with all the rest of our classmates who have passed away since our graduation day at CHS.

Dear Susie,

Thank you very much for letting me know of the passing away of Mr Douglas Buchanan. I was greatly shocked. He was the best friend when I was at Centerville High as an exchange student. He taught me many things when I was totally at loss at a “foreign” environment. I feel sad whenever my friends in my youths passes away one by one. But, on the other hand, I am happy to know that people like you are doing all right, sound and healthy.

As for myself, the last year was terrible. In the beginning of the year, my mother passed away. Towards end of February, I had to escape from Tripoli, Libya, where I was the Ambassador of Japan. I lived in Tunice, Tokyo and Cairo for eight months. At the end of October, I was able to return to Tripoli only to find the collapsed government and a lot of gun-fires. I returned to Tokyo in March this year and preparing to take up the next and the final post as the Ambassador of Japan to Luxembourg.

Luxembourg is not famous and only a small-sized country located in the border area of France, Germany and Belgium. Yet, it is the country with the highest per-capita income in the world with rich historical background. I shall be arriving in Luxembourg in June. Hope to see you and your husband sometimes in Europe.

Terri Thomas is in town this weekend and would love to see everyone! Just drinks-or possible an early dinner at Harrigans tomorrow (Sunday) at 5:00. Hope to see you there!

Sue Wiley Cook passed away last night

    Good morning to all,
     On this unusually warm and beautiful February morning, I am so sorry to pass on this very sad news.  Sue Wiley Cook passed away last night.  She has had several bouts of cancer.   Sue is being cremated but there will be a memorial service in the near future.  You can check daytondailynews.com for more information.
     Not everyone knows-except those very special ones--Sue was one of the original classmates who started kindergarten together.  That special set has lost quite a few: Chuck Thomas, Dick Campbell, Chris Chase, Curt Geiger, Nancy Erickson, Mike Rummans, Dana Stull, Larry Shuff, Greg Cowden, Bill Johnson, and now Sue. 
     Sue tried to make as many of our monthly Thursday night dinners at Harrigans.  Several people will be getting together tonight to just, well, get together.  If you'd like to come---be there around 6:00.
     If you'd like to send a card to her husband, Milton I've included her address.
