Tara Hobbs Smith passed away 9/3/2015

Hello to all, 

      I haven’t had to write to share sad news in such a long time, but, we have lost another classmate.  Tara Hobbs Smith passed away early this morning in her home.  She and her husband, Kevin were regulars at our monthly dinners at Harrigan’s Tavern, driving the nearly 90 minutes from Bell Center, Ohio.   Tara had been ill for many years, but always seemed to bounce back.  A few months ago, the doctors told her that the end was nearer than they had hoped.  Tara was determined to hold her first grandchild due in mid-October, but she just didn’t have enough strength.

     The funeral arrangements are:

                 Saturday, September 5^th  at Crossroad Baptist Church  9903 W. National Road in New Carlisle, Ohio—across the street from Tecumseh High School                         

                 Visitation from 10:00-11:00 with the service at 11:00.

                 She will be buried in the Centerville Cemetery alongside her parents.

     If  you would like to make a donation, Tara requested they be sent to the Crossroad Baptist Church   

     As always, if there comes a time that you would like some extra thoughts and prayers, please e-mail me and I’ll get it out to the class.  There have been a few over the years.  I hope it helped.

Change in Carol’s going away party

Hi All!

     There is a change in Carol’s going away party at Bob McBain’s home.  Instead of THIS Friday---we’re changing it to NEXT Friday (August 28^th)!  I hope everyone who RSVP’d they would be coming this Friday can still make it next Friday---------and I hope that those who couldn’t come this Friday find they can come next Friday!!!!  J  Let’s hope the weather NEXT Friday will be just as nice as THIS Friday has been forcasted!!!  But---if it is a stormy rainy Friday-we’ll just all meet at Harrigan’s instead of McBain’s.

     Those who haven’t RSVP’d Bob---please do-- 937 470-1759.  We’re going to have a great send off for Carol!

Carol Afanador is moving on to Florida going away party.

Carol Afanador has sold her condo and is moving on to Florida to be with her daughter and grandchildren.

We’re going to miss her terribly!!!!   My, oh my---who will call Harrigan’s and secure our tables for the last Thursday of every month?

Tara Hobbs Smith

Hi all, Thankfully, I did not put ‘sad news’ in my subject line. But, sadly, we do need prayers for Tara Hobbs Smith. Tara has been ill for many years, but now is an especially hard time for her. She has been transferred from Kettering Medical Center ICU to Ohio State University for more specialized treatment. She and her husband have asked us to send out an e-mail asking for prayers for her recovery. If you would like to send a message to her, you can send it to me and I will direct it immediately to him….or you can send a card to her at:
